Young Researchers and Professionals Program Attracts Eighty-eight Proposals
The first round of two calls for proposals within the Young Researchers and Professionals Program (3A My First Research Topic Grant and 3B Reintegration Grant) has been closed on 15 September 2007.
The final number of the complete project proposals that arrived to the Unity through Knowledge Fund within deadline is 88. For My the First Research Topic Grant there are 74 proposals, and for the Reintegration Grant 14 proposals.
The proposed projects are within all fields of science and technology, but the most numerous are proposals in natural sciences and biomedicine.
The proposed projects are requesting from the Fund a total amount of about 5 100 000 EUR (more then the total 3-year-budget of the Fund). Since the Fund has at disposal for the Young Researchers and Professionals Program for this year 370 000 EUR , in this round we will finance not more than 30% of the proposed activities.
During the forthcoming evaluation process, the Fund’s Secretariat and Committees will identify the best proposals according to the Fund’s goals: supporting internationally competitive projects, supporting projects that provide added value to Croatia and supporting projects that develop science and technology infrastructure in Croatia. Details of the evaluation process may be found on the Fund’s web site, www.ukf.hr.
The Unity through Knowledge Fund thanks all candidates, both from homeland and from diaspora, for having confidence and submitting proposals to the first round of calls.
We are looking forward to starting the implementation of the best projects and launching new programs of the Unity through Knowledge Fund.
